The Directorate of Education, GNCT of Delhi organizes various Science Activities to promote scientific temperament among students and to encourage them to learn, think and express scientific ideas beyond the classroom. The programme provides a common platform where students can participate in a variety of activities such as Science Seminar, Science Drama, Science Debate, Science Quiz, Science Poster, Science Slogan and Sciencetoon. These activities are designed to make science more engaging, relevant and meaningful for students. They encourage learners to ask questions, explore new ideas, understand contemporary developments in science and technology, work together in teams and communicate their thoughts with clarity and confidence.
Through participation, students also get opportunities to demonstrate their creativity, reasoning ability, scientific understanding and presentation skills.The activities are conducted at different levels, beginning with the School Level and progressing through the Zonal Level, Science Centre Level and State Level.
This structured process of participation at the various levels gives students an opportunity to participate, learn from one another and showcase their talent on wider platforms.The Science Activities Programme is not limited to competition alone. Its larger purpose is to help students develop curiosity, logical thinking, creativity, confidence and a deeper interest in science. By connecting scientific knowledge with real-life issues, technology, the environment and society, the programme seeks to make science a more active and enjoyable part of students’ learning experience.Through these initiatives, the Directorate of Education continues its efforts to inculcate scientific temperament and popularise science among students, while providing them with opportunities to learn, participate, create and grow as confident and informed young learners.
