Science Poster Competition

The Science Poster Competition is a creative and academic activity organised by the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, every year with the objective of encouraging students to express scientific ideas through visual communication. The activity provides young learners with an opportunity to combine scientific understanding, creativity, imagination and artistic expression while presenting meaningful messages related to contemporary science, technology, environment and sustainable development.

Unlike conventional classroom activities, a science poster requires students to communicate an idea primarily through visual elements. Students are encouraged to think about the scientific theme, identify its central message and represent it in a manner that is clear, meaningful and visually engaging.

The Science Based Poster Competition is organised for students of all the Government, Government Aided and Private Unaided recognised schools under the Directorate of Education, GNCT of Delhi. To provide age-appropriate opportunities for participation, the competition is conducted in three separate level:

At the Zonal Level, competitions are organised for the registered schools under the jurisdiction of the respective Zonal Conveners. Students securing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in each level are forwarded to their respective Science Centres.

The Science Centres subsequently organise the competition among the selected zonal-level entries and forward the details of students securing the first three positions from each level to the Science Branch for further participation at the State Level.
